A new stadium pitch for Chelsea Women

Kingsmeadow Stadium is the home of Chelsea Women and the men’s development squad.

The following scope of works was carried out in accordance with the specification produced by PSD:

• Removal and disposal of 3,800m³ of existing pitch profile
• Cut and fill earthworks to create sub base and new pitch levels
• Installation of drainage and irrigation systems
• Import and spread new gravel raft, lower sand and upper rootzone layers, total depth of 450mm
• Preparation and seeding of pitch surface
• Installation of SISGrass hybrid pitch reinforcement system
• Installation of new pitch surrounds synthetic carpet.

The construction works were carried out during the summer of 2021.
